Denise Runge

Denise Runge is the provost and executive vice chancellor of academic affairs at the University of Alaska Anchorage. In this role, Runge provides leadership and direction for the broad academic mission of UAA, to discover and disseminate knowledge through teaching, research, engagement and creative expression. She came to UAA in 2015 following 20 years as faculty, dean, and provost at institutions in Georgia, Mississippi and Montana. At UAA, she has previously served as dean of the Community & Technical College, as well as assistant director at the Prince William Sound College campus in Valdez. Her Ph.D. is in political science with a public policy and administration concentration.
